Nestled in the heart of the Niseko United Ski Area, Niseko Village will host the Niseko Village Tanuki Golf Invitational from 27–31 August 2026, transforming the late Japanese summer into a five-day experience where golf, nature and the relaxed atmosphere of the season come together.

Surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Mount Yōtei, participants will enjoy three rounds of golf across different courses, including the open Niseko Village Golf Course, offering sweeping panoramic views, and the forest-lined Niseko Golf Course, where nature creates a more intimate setting. Each course offers its own distinct character, alternating between expansive scenery and secluded woodland fairways.

Inspired by the Tanuki, the playful figure of Japanese folklore, the Invitational celebrates a relaxed approach to golf, where shared experiences matter just as much as the game itself.

Inspired by the legendary story of Freddy Spencer Chapman, the event leads participants through the island's spectacular natural surroundings, combining physical endurance with the beauty of the untouched landscape.

At its heart is a multi-discipline endurance challenge featuring trail running, trekking and swimming through the rainforest, across the island and into the waters of Emerald Bay. Rather than focusing solely on competition, the event celebrates the experience of nature, endurance and personal challenge in an extraordinary setting.
