Overwater Villas – A Thoughtful Enhancement to the Island Experience​

This unique atmosphere provides the foundation for a carefully considered enhancement of the resort, to be introduced over the coming months, complementing the existing experience without altering its essence.

Between late May and October 2026, selected Overwater Villas will be enhanced with private pools as part of a carefully planned project. Positioned above the crystal-clear lagoon, the villas offer 165 m² of living space and a bright, open-plan design that creates a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. The addition of a 23 m² private pool introduces a new level of privacy, tranquillity and direct connection to the surrounding water, thoughtfully enriching the villa experience. The new category is available for booking effective immediately and is open for stays starting October 22, 2026.

This enhancement reflects the resort's philosophy of refining what already exists—deepening the sense of space, intimacy and connection with the lagoon while preserving the authentic character of Vakkaru Maldives.

The project will be carried out in carefully planned phases, ensuring that only limited areas of the island are affected at any one time. All work zones will be discreetly screened to preserve the island's visual serenity and natural atmosphere, minimising any impact on the guest experience. Throughout the enhancement period, all Beach Villas and the resort's key facilities—including its restaurants, spa and all leisure and recreational amenities—will remain fully operational, allowing guests to continue enjoying the signature Vakkaru experience without compromise.
