From Colombo to Kandy and Galle –

Sri Lanka, Where Diversity Knows No Bounds

A carefully curated journey through Sri Lanka's southern beaches, cultural treasures and vibrant city experiences – complemented by stays at Radisson Hotel Colombo, Radisson Hotel Kandy and Radisson Blu Resort Galle. Milrik Hospitality consciously began 2026 with a journey that is particularly close to our hearts: shaped by authentic encounters, unforgettable impressions and meaningful moments that linger long after the trip has ended and leave you wanting to discover even more.

Three exceptional Radisson hotels that combine city life, culture and coastline into one seamless journey

We arrive in Colombo and are warmly welcomed at the airport by Suresh, whose friendly smile immediately reflects the island's renowned hospitality. Colombo invites you to immerse yourself in its vibrant atmosphere, whether exploring the city or enjoying a shopping trip to One Galle Face Mall. In the evening, we settle into our ocean-view room at Radisson Hotel Colombo, and the following morning we enjoy breakfast overlooking the sparkling Indian Ocean before continuing our journey to Kandy.

The next morning brings a little adventure: the drive to Kandy. Even after many visits, experiencing the route for the first time as self-drivers is something truly special. We won't pretend it comes without surprises – from narrow streets and cows wandering across the road to a few close encounters with our side mirrors. Yet these are exactly the moments that make Sri Lanka so unforgettable. Along the way, an elderly lady invites us to try her homemade hoppers, offering us a delicious introduction to the local cuisine – and refusing to let us pay.

Upon arriving in Kandy, we check into Radisson Hotel Kandy and end the day with a relaxing evening at the Bommu Rooftop Bar. A stroll along the river and a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic allow us to experience the island's spiritual heritage firsthand – a touching moment of quiet reflection.

The final stage of our journey takes us to Galle. The roads become easier, the scenery opens up, and the coastline welcomes us with open arms. At Radisson Blu Resort Galle, we immediately embrace the relaxed beach atmosphere. The spacious pool area, comfortable rooms and especially the suites invite complete relaxation. Over the following days, we spend our time on the beach, enjoy rejuvenating massages, savour a drink or two at the Bommu Rooftop Bar, and explore the surrounding area: the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, whale and dolphin watching excursions, cycling through picturesque coastal villages, and visits to tea and cinnamon plantations – experiences that stay with us long after the journey ends.

Eventually, it is time to say goodbye. Our suitcases are filled with tea and small Sri Lankan treasures, while our hearts are full of unforgettable memories. This journey perfectly demonstrates how Radisson Hotel Colombo, Radisson Hotel Kandy and Radisson Blu Resort Galle complement one another, offering comfort at every stage and creating a safe and unforgettable experience, particularly for first-time visitors to Sri Lanka.

Insider Tip – Food & Drink: Don't miss the chance to try hoppers – a local speciality you'll remember long after your trip. For a rooftop bar experience at Radisson Blu Resort Galle, we recommend a cocktail made with arrack: authentic and flavourful, yet approachable for international travellers.
